According to a recent survey by J.D. Power & Associates, customer satisfaction for homeowners insurance policy holders is at an all time high, scoring on average 785 on a 1,000 point scale for 2012. This score is up 16 points from 2011. The study measured satisfaction with billing, claims, service, price and coverage options.
The study showed that “bundling” home and auto insurance with one insurer versus having two separate insurers led to higher customer satisfaction. This is not surprising given that a customer would recieve a discount on home and auto for bundling their policies and they would have one place to call when a they have a policy question.
According to the study, satisfaction for customers who insure only their home with their homeowners insurer was 712. But when they bundled their auto policy as well, their satisfaction rose to 792. When at least four policies were bundled together their satisfaction was at it’s highest at 861.
